As per Arts and Science Academic Calendar, Academic Petitions and Appeals Regulation 3.3.1.6, To Facilitate a Formal Review of Instructors’ Decisions on Grading of Term Work and/or Final Examinations, a student may petition for a formal review of a grade assigned in a course subject to the marking scheme set out by the course instructor.
Your petition letter was sent to the Head of the department of Global Development Studies so that they could understand the reasons for your request before they facilitated this review. As part of formal review process, two reviewers (selected by the Head) were provided with your Final exam as well as the instructions/rubric for this component of the course.
We regret to inform you that this review resulted in a lower Final Exam grade than what was originally supplied by the instructor however, your final course grade will remain unchanged.
Please know that according to Academic Petition and Appeal regulation 3.3.1.6. at https://www.queensu.ca/academic-calendar/arts-science/appeal-regulations/#text this reconsidered grade may not be appealed.
