I have carefully considered your petition to drop CHEM 112 and MATH 121 (FW24/25) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
I recognize the extenuating circumstances that you wrote about in your petition letter, and I have granted this request as I recognize that these courses were also disrupted by the PSAC Local 901 strike during the 2025 Winter term. Your grades in CHEM 112 and MATH 121 (FW24/25) will be replaced with a DR notation on your transcript.
Going forward, it is the student’s responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes prior to the drop deadline of the term. If they have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, they should drop the course by the deadline. The drop deadlines, outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Faculty of Arts and Science web page, have been established to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.
Also, I encourage you to contact an Academic Advisor to discuss your course enrollment for the upcoming academic year and to establish an academic plan moving forward.
