Dear Nicole Li,

I have reviewed your petition for Credit Standing in BCHM 315 (F24) and BCHM 316 (W25). After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this petition due to the timeline and academic impacts of extenuating circumstances as confirmed within the documentation you supplied. Your grade in these courses will be replaced with a CR notation on your transcript.

Going forward, I strongly recommend that you consider taking a reduced course load for the 2025/2026 academic year, such as four courses per term. This approach is often suggested for students who are adjusting to new medications or engaged in a long-term treatment plan.

Also, you should know that it is your responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on your coursework prior to the drop deadline of the term. If you fall behind in a course or find the material too difficult, you should drop the course by deadline. The drop deadlines, outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Faculty of Arts and Science web page, have been established to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.

Sincerely,

Dorit Naaman, PhD
Associate Dean (Academic)
