Dear Ana:

I have carefully considered your request for a deferral of your final exams in PSYC 251 and PSYC 320 (F24) as well as your request to receive Credit Standing in GNDS 370 (W25).

Based on the circumstances presented and the support of your instructors, I will grant your request for exam deferrals in PSYC 251 and PSYC 320. You will be expected to write these exams during the upcoming exam period, please coordinate directly with Tara Karasewich in the Psychology department.

While I am unable to grant your request for Credit standing in GNDS 370, I want to assure you that I’ve taken your circumstances into account as part of this decision.

Academic Petitions and Appeals Regulation 1.7.1.4 defines Credit standing as:
Credit standing is reserved for a course in which a student who has completed all of the work of the class, including the final examination, and achieved a passing grade in the class, but due to illness or other extenuating circumstances beyond their control, earned a substantially lower grade than might have been expected.

While your letter and documentation confirms the presence of some extenuating circumstances during the 2025 Winter term, you have unfortunately not completed all of the requirements of GNDS 370, as the final assignment worth 30% of the final grade was not submitted. For this reason, I am not able to grant a CR in this course.

If you wish to appeal this decision, you are welcome to submit an appeal to the Board of Studies.
