Dear Dongyu Ge:

I have carefully considered your request for a deferral of the final exams in ECON 222, ECON 255, MATH 225, and MATH 280 (F265). After reviewing your file and the information supplied by the instructors of these courses, I have decided to grant your request.

For deferrals in MATH 225, and MATH 280 (F25), please contact each instructor as soon as possible to make the arrangements to write these exams in September of 2026.

Regarding your request for a deferral in ECON 222 and ECON 255 (F25), both instructors are able to offer you the opportunity to write the outstanding exams in September. However, they have confirmed that you are alternately eligible for Aegrotat Standing in the courses instead. Based on the work you completed during the term, the instructor of ECON 222 has provided an estimated grade of A plus and the instructor of ECON 255 has provided an estimated grade of B plus. These grades can appear on your transcript with an Aegrotat Estimated Grade notation. If you would like to accept this offer in lieu of writing the deferred exams, please email asc.petitions@queensu.ca within 10 business days of receiving this letter.

Going forward, if your circumstances change and you are unable to complete these deferred exams in September, I am happy to explore alternate academic options such as dropping courses after the academic deadline, through a subsequent petition request at that time.

Sincerely,

Dorit Naaman, PhD.
Associate Dean (Academic)
