Petition Letter
To whom it may concern,
My name is Alexa Bozzo, and I am a first-year student here at Queens University. I was looking to add an additional course to my current semester however missed the deadline.
Unfortunately, I missed the deadline due to extreme illness. I fell ill Wednesday, January 18th, 2023. I had been diagnosed with a viral throat infection, that came with body aches, an extremely high fever, and a cough in December of 2022 and it reoccurred from January 18th, 2023 to January 22, 2023. During this period of illness, I could not attend classes, complete and submit assignments and any other activities that required leaving my dormitory. I was continuously taking Advil to help the fever go down, as there was no medication that my doctor could have prescribed. It also caused extreme fatigue from not only the illness but also the medication. When I was diagnosed with this same infection in December of 2022, making me unable to write an exam and need to return home earlier than expected, I spent these days resting and allowing my body to heal, so I did the same when this illness occurred again. I could finally log on to Solus five days after falling ill and pick a course that fit my schedule and interested me. I am hoping to be able to add one of the following courses to my schedule for the following winter term:
IDIS 199 (Online)- S. Cunningham
HLTH 237 (in-person)- S. Fergus
PHAR 100 (Online)- N. Nakatsu, M. Turner
Please let me know if this is possible and if further information is required. I truly did everything in my power to meet this deadline.
