Petition Letter
Good morning, dear Associate Dean:
Sorry to bother you at the end of this semester. I am writing this petition because I am petitioning to drop Cisc 121 and Clst 103(winter , 2023).
Unfortunately, during the mid-term period, I suffered from the new crown, fever (39 degrees) and cough. I was afraid of disturbing other students, so I missed some courses. After that, I also tried to make up for the missed courses and try to achieve an ideal result, but in the end not very well. And during this period, I was away from Kingston for two weeks due to some family reasons (death of a family member-March 14,).After these things happened, I have been trying my best to keep up with the progress of the teacher's course(Simultaneously catch up on course progress in four courses), but the previous foundation is not very solid. This new knowledge is undoubtedly a huge challenge for me, and these negative emotions accompany me until the end of the semester. The CLST103 is an elective course. Due to the above reasons, I missed a lot of knowledge points that need to be memorized. It is basically impossible to memorize them in a short period of time, and I will give priority to making up the course progress of the compulsory courses. In addition, the Cisc 121 is a very important compulsory course, and I don't want him to get a bad grade in the first semester and affect my overall gpa. I'm leaning towards putting it back in the summer.Because I am always hesitating whether to stick to getting good grades, I recently read most of the review syllabus and found that the chances of getting good grades are slim, after that I missed the last deadline for drop,I will retake the required courses and enroll in two elective courses or more in the summer vacation to complete the missed credits.I sincerely hope to have the opportunity to delay dropping courses to improve my future gpa score.I will do my best in the next study to get better results.
