Academic Plan
Logan Brodie-Brown Academic Plan Student # 20360537
A. Course of study
I would like to remain in the COCA (Computing and the Creative Arts) Film section.
If allowed to pursue my studies next year, I would repeat CISC 102 to improve my grade. I would take
CISC 121 and CISC 124, and Film 110 as core courses. I would try to pursue CISC 203 in second term.
I would choose optional courses that I had an interest in, that I was good at, and that represent a
reasonable course load. Examples would be a history course, and a beginner Italian course
I would not take more than 4 courses per term just to ensure I have the best chance to succeed
Possible Course Selections 2023-2024
Term 1 Term 2
CISC 102 CISC 203
Film 110 Film 110
CISC 121 CISC 124
Beginner Italian Ancient History
B. Full time vs part time
I would plan to attend full time but not take the full five courses per term. I would instead enroll in 4
courses per term. This would allow me to have all the courses I need to pursue my COCA stream the
following year, but also allow me to have a little more time to focus on my core courses.
C. Strategies for success
There were several issues that impeded my success last year. If allowed to return, I feel confident that I
will do well because these issues will all be addressed.
1. I had a very old out-of-date computer last year that made accessing classes and completing
assignments very difficult. I have purchased a new computer that solves this problem.
2. I have been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and ADHD. I thought I could manage my first
year without the support I was used to in high school; I was wrong. I have since had some
accommodations put in place through VENTUS to support me in handing in ALL assignments. I
plan to work with my VENTUS adviser to ensure I am using the accommodations effectively.
3. With mild ADHD, I need to find tools to help with time management. This summer, I have
started using a daily planner, and keep and calendar up-to-date. It has made managing my time
not so daunting. I am encouraged and plan to continue using those tools as well as meeting with
support staff like a Peer Mentor for new strategies when back at Queen’s
4. Last year I took very challenging courses as my options that were not part of my area of study,
such as Physics. If allowed to return, I plan to take courses I have a strong interest in and that I
can confidently engage in, like History and Italian
