Academic Plan
In terms of academic changes, I think switching from my current Honours BSc (120 credits) into a general BSc (90 credits) would take some of the pressure off to hopefully avoid another mental health decline. I also currently have not declared a major, so I recently had a meeting with an academic advisor to talk about possible plans going forward. We came up with the idea of spending a year in a program like geography or geology, as the required GPA for those programs is lower and I must declare a major to be able to enrol in any more courses. While in one of those programs, I can “shadow” a biology or life science plan so that I’ll still be moving in the right direction, and once my GPA is at the required level, I will switch into my desired general science plan. I likely wouldn’t retake the courses I’m appealing to drop, as they were requirements for the Honours plan and I’m looking to switch out of that, so in their place I would take other courses that are required for a general degree, or maybe even electives that interest me more.
