Academic Plan
I have consulted with an academic advisor to devise a plan if I were to be reinstated, my academic plan would consist of various adjustments I will make in order to succeed. First I would switch my program into Political Sciences (Bachelor of Arts), instead of Honours Science (Bachelor of Science) so I am passionate and able to pursue my interests. Next, I will have weekly online sessions with my therapist to keep a healthy state of mind and ensure I am on the right track to success. I will also be taking a lighter course load during the first semester of second year to slowly adjust back into the working mindset. Instead of taking 5 courses a semester, as I did last year, I would take 4 courses, and also complete courses during the summer to have all the required credits. I have also been recently medicated for my mental health issues, and will continue to take the mediation needed to stay on right track with my mental and physical wellbeing. Although I have faced many social, mental, and academic challenges during my first year, I have taken time with my therapist to overcome each issues one by one in a healthy manner. For academic struggles I will not only be switching my program, as stated before, but I will also be creating a monthly schedule to keep my studying, assignments, and other due dates on track. I have also been looking into on campus tutors that are able to assist me with any confusion I might face whilst in my new program. To overcome the social issues I had faced during my first year, I have chosen to live with a small, well rounded group of people who are in similar programs and will keep a positive and healthy environment whilst on campus. I will also be contacting QSAS to see if I qualify for academic accommodations due to my mental health disorders. My therapist and I have also analyzed my work ethic and studying tactics and have discussed many tactics and strategies to work efficiently and skillfully for next semester.
