Petition Letter
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to respectfully petition for an extension of the 21-day petition deadline to waive my one year withdrawal at Queens University. I deeply regret that I was unable to submit my petition within the designated timeframe due to extenuating circumstances that severely affected my ability to communicate or access relevant university resources.
I would like to bring to your attention the personal challenges that I have been facing, which impeded my ability to meet the petition deadline. I have been struggling with severe anxiety and fear that have made it incredibly difficult for me to open the Queens University website, check my emails, or engage with any official communications. My anxiety has been a constant burden, preventing me from taking necessary actions, including filing this petition, until yesterday when I finally mustered the courage to address this matter.
Furthermore, I was in Egypt up until a week ago, which made it virtually impossible for me to check the university website regularly. While in Egypt, I was using my Egyptian phone number which was not linked to my student account so i was unable to log in as the website requires a code to be sent via sms to confirm my identity, further exacerbating my anxiety and fear of missing important deadlines.
Despite these significant challenges, I want to assure you that I am highly committed to my education and to achieving success in my academic pursuits at Queens University. I deeply value my time as a student here, and I am determined to overcome the obstacles that have held me back.
I kindly request the understanding and consideration of the university in granting an extension of the petition deadline so that I may submit my petition to waive the relevant academic regulations. I assure you that my situation is genuine.
I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience my request may cause, and I promise to promptly submit the necessary documents to fulfill my petition once the deadline extension is granted.
Thank you for taking the time to review my request. I am grateful for your understanding and hope for a positive resolution that allows me to continue my academic journey at Queens University.
