Petition Letter
I am writing this petition to request permission to study abroad at Curtin University for the winter semester of 2024. I am choosing to do this to broaden my university experience by living and studying in another country. While I am in Australia, I hope to dive into Aboriginal culture by learning their history and creative arts. I find aboriginal art absolutely beautiful and I am excited to learn to cultural significance of that style. Studying abroad will also be a wonderful opportunity for self-growth given I'll be going without previously knowing anybody. I believe it is extremely important to be in situations where I have no choice but to put myself out into the world and make an effort to meet new people and truly experience a different lifestyle.
Additionally, I am a New Zealand citizen who has not seen my family there for several years due to COVID-19. Being so close to New Zealand will also allow me to visit them and make up for the time we missed apart.
