Petition Letter
Hello, my name is Victoria Ejsmont, and I am submitting a petition to hopefully be allowed to join FREN 150. I was previously not able to enroll in classes because of a family emergency occurring in Greece during the floods. On September 4, Storm Daniel occurred and was the deadliest tropical cyclone in Mediterranean history. September 6th is when I arrived in Greece to help my family, who live in Greece. I was able to depart Greece on September 20th. I’ve attached a copy of my plane ticket to support this. After returning from Greece, I planned a session with an academic advisor to see how to get back on track.
After returning from Greece, I was in a not-at-fault car accident where another vehicle turned into me as I was going straight. I wasn’t able to see the advisor right away because of that. This delayed my proposal, sadly. I’ve attached a page from car insurance, as I do not have access to the police report at this time yet.
Both of these events were life circumstances that were out of my control. I wished to enroll in classes sooner, and when that was no longer possible, I wished to submit my petition as soon as possible. I am hoping that rather than take on a full course load, I am able to take the FREN 150 course to begin a minor in French and get back on track with my studies this fall.
