Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean,
By way of introduction, my name is Hannah White. I am writing today to petition to drop a course past its deadline. It is with a great deal of sadness that must I submit this appeal, because I genuinely enjoyed the content of ARTH 308. On Tuesday October 24th, we had a midterm test. This was the first assessment we have received thus far. I studied for the test using all of the available resources provided to me including readings, notes, and lecture slides. When it came to the actual test, I felt completely unprepared. Professor Matthew Reeve released the grades for the test on November 1st; two days after the deadline to drop courses. I received a grade of 30% without any prior indication for how I was doing in the course. This test is weighted heavily and it very unlikely that I will be able to recover my grade.
Thank you for your patience and time,
Hannah
