Petition Letter
During my newfound independence as a first-year university student, I have struggled to maintain my academic habits from high school, as well as keep my priorities in line with what I believe they should be to succeed in university. Going into university as a 17-year-old with ADHD, and depression, I was concerned that I might struggle a bit. During the first weeks of this semester, I was on top of all my courses, then I slowly begain to focus on specific courses knowing that my grades needed to be higher in some than others. However, I did not do much to help myself. Now that it is time for exams again, I fear if I don't help myself my grades will truly suffer, and I will potentially be placed on academic probation next year. By dropping this course, my week-to-week workload will be greatly decreased, and I can focus on the courses I need to succeed in. I know it is very late in the semester, but with my current workload, I feel it is unrealistic for me to get the grades I need to in order to major in the subject I would like to, let alone do well enough to feel I have a stable place at this university next year.
