Petition Letter
Good afternoon. My name is Lauren Williams and my student number is 20364008. I am reaching out to you today in regards to a class I thought I was enrolled in for the year, but recently found out I was never enrolled in the class at all. Before my second year began, I had several meetings with Caylee Wraycroft-Wright, who is the program assistant at The DAN School, to make sure I was registered in enough courses for the semester/year. I auditioned for Wind Ensemble (MUSC 215) for credit, was successful, and have been attending every single rehearsal since the beginning of the semester. I have been receiving emails from Andrew Parsche, who is responsible for sending out all emails and updates regarding the ensemble. Throughout this time, I was never notified that there was a hold or a conflict with this course and I was under the impression that I was taking this course for credit the entire semester.
OSAP also released my funding in two separate amounts. The first portion of my grant was released on September 7th 2023 for a total of $3,460.00, and on November 6th 2023, the rest of my funding was released, for a total of $396.00. Following this release, I paid the rest of my remaining tuition in full. I spoke with Caylee on November 23rd, asking if I could still be registered in this course for credit, but she informed me that in order to be registered, and get a credit so late in the semester, that I need to appeal. I have access to attendance logs proving my regular participation in MUSC 215 as well as proof of payment and dates from OSAP.
All of the events listed above are, unfortunately, out of my control. I have done everything in my power to make sure that I was prepared for the year, but was never informed of any issues regarding my account. I was falsely informed the entire semester and am, as a result, quite frustrated. Our final, and only, performance for the semester, that we are graded on, is on November 27th and I am afraid I will not be properly evaluated for this course due to this error from administration in regards to my enrolment. I have attached proof of attendance for every single class this semester as well as email chains with Dan Tremblay and Andrew Parsche as well as billing documentation from OSAP. Please let me know if you require anything further to support this request for appeal.
