Petition to Remove PRAC110 from Transcript due to COVID-19 Impact
I am writing to respectfully request the removal of the course PRAC110 from my academic transcript. This request is made under exceptional circumstances stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, which significantly impacted my ability to complete the course successfully. In the 2020- 2021 year, I was enrolled in the Concurrent Education program and registered for PRAC110, a practical placement course. Due to the pandemic, the university shifted to an online format midway through the semester. This sudden change left me in a challenging position. I had already secured a placement for PRAC110, but the transition to online modules was not communicated effectively to me. Under the assumption that my placement would continue, I was unable to adapt to the new online format in time, which unfortunately led to a failing grade in this course.
It's important to note that I am no longer pursuing the Concurrent Education program and have shifted my focus solely to the Bachelor of Fine Arts Honours (BFAH). The PRAC110 course, being a part of the Concurrent Education curriculum, does not contribute towards my graduation credits in the BFAH program. Given these circumstances, the failed grade on my transcript does not reflect my academic capabilities or my commitment to my current program of study. I understand the unprecedented challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic posed for both students and the university. However, the impact on my academic record due to a situation beyond my control is a significant concern. The removal of PRAC110 from my transcript would more accurately reflect my academic performance and progress in my chosen field of study.
I respectfully request that the Academic Review Board consider my situation with empathy and understanding. I am committed to my academic journey in the Bachelor of Fine Arts Honours and wish for my transcript to accurately represent my efforts and achievements.
