Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to you for the second time to request a special consideration for withdrawing from the course ECON 222 after the official deadline. I deeply appreciate your taking the time to consider my situation once again.
Since my last petition, my circumstances have regrettably worsened, impacting my ability to succeed in this course.
The ongoing deterioration of my parents’ relationship have escalated, necessitating my frequent presence at home, three hours away from campus, to assist in managing family affairs. This situation has been a considerable distraction and emotional burden, greatly affecting my academic focus and performance, particularly during this critical exam study period.
I have been striving to resolve these personal matters, including exploring options for family therapy or a collective effort to address our challenges, in proposing these changes will take lots of convincing and require me to travel home even more frequently. However, the immediacy of these issues has made it incredibly challenging for me to prepare for the upcoming exams in ECON 222 as it is the biggest workload for me currently.
I am fully committed to my academic journey and am taking steps to ensure that my performance in my remaining and future courses are not similarly affected. I believe that withdrawing from this course under these exceptional circumstances is necessary for me to maintain my overall academic standing as well as my mental and physical wellbeing.
I understand the gravity of this request, especially following my previous petition. My aim is to return to my studies with full focus and dedication once these pressing personal matters are managed more effectively.
Warmest Regards,
Tiger
