Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean,
I hope this letter finds you well. I sincerely apologize for the delay in responding to your email. Unfortunately, I did not receive any notification about the failure to send my petition due to either the unique circumstances of the Chinese network or my oversight.
Allow me to elaborate on the petition I submitted a few months ago. Due to various family-related issues last year, I faced challenges that significantly impacted my academic performance. Regrettably, my handling of the situation led to an erroneous judgment on my part, further affecting my studies. I deeply regret my actions up to this point. In early August, I submitted an Academic Petition for a Late Course Drop. I was informed that I missed the deadline and was required to provide reasons for the delay. In September, I submitted an appeal, explaining the critical illness of my little sister during that time, along with my battle with the flu. However, it seems my emails were not reaching you, and for that, I sincerely apologize for the delayed response. I will attach my previous correspondence and relevant documentation.
I would also like to express my gratitude for the support the school has provided during this challenging period. It has allowed me some respite, and, with the encouragement of my family, I have taken up guitar playing, developed an appreciation for fine arts, and occasionally indulged in writing poetry. I feel that my life is gradually taking a positive turn. I am thankful to my parents and, of course, to the school. I have obtained a medical certificate from the hospital in Xiamen, my place of residence, which includes results from various tests such as SCL90, SDS, SAS, etc. I am content with the outcomes, with the only exception being a slight weakness in social relationships. I will enclose the test reports and medical certificate for your reference.
I am hopeful for your understanding and assistance in this matter.
