Petition Letter
To whom this may concern,
I am petitioning to add STAT 263 or ECON 250 to my schedule. I am petitioning to add, drop, or swap these courses depending on if I can get into the necessary course I need. STAT 263 (section 1) works perfectly in my schedule and I was originally looking to petition to add it to my schedule if any space has since opened up. Yet although there ECON 250 conflicts with ECON 232 in my schedule, I am also open to petitioning swapping these two classes if possible.
I took STAT 263 in Fall 2022, but did not get the required mark that I need to use this class as a prerequisite. I had a hold on my account until the day before the add/drop course deadline. When the hold was lifted, I got permission to add myself to the waitlist to re-take STAT 263 this semester. At 11:50pm on the add/drop courses deadline day, I was still at 2nd on the waitlist. My backup plan for this hour was to swap my ECON 232 class with ECON 250 (as there was a conflict in my schedule and I could only take one). When I went to swap these classes I found that STAT 263 was an exclusion for taking ECON 250, which I was unaware of, but I have since emailed Michael Barber and have gotten permission to be excused from this exclusion.
My two options I am looking at are seeing if I can either swap ECON 280 with STAT 263 on my schedule, or if I can swap ECON 232 with ECON 250.
I am a third year student in the process of switching my major, and am taking mostly second year classes trying my best to catch up. In order to graduate on time and finish my course requirements, these are classes that are essential to my schedule. If there is anything that can be done for either of these options, it would be greatly appreciated! If you need any additional information or documents from me I am happy to provide them.
Thank you so much for your consideration,
Lauren Kolber
