Petition Letter
To whom this may concern,
My name is Evan Huys. I am a fourth-year student in the Concurrent Education program, my major being history. Currently, I am petitioning to late drop HIST 207 (Winter 2024) and HIST 402 (Winter 2024).
I am petitioning to drop HIST 207 (Winter 2024) and HIST 402 (Winter 2024) due to the fact that I have been experiencing extenuating medical circumstances beyond my control. Due to an ongoing mental illness, I was not able to complete the entirety of these courses. Ideally, I would have dropped these courses within the academic deadlines. My reasoning for not doing so is that I have not felt well enough to complete this form and I am only completing it now, with assistance.
I am currently working with a variety of professionals to improve my disability and have been doing so for years with the expectation that my disability will improve and I will be able to complete my degree.
As for my future plans, I have enrolled in a HIST course for the summer with the hopes of attaining some of the credits I have missed. I will also be taking a 5th year in which I hope to complete my Bachelor of Arts despite my difficulty with my disability over the past few years.
Thank you for your consideration, I very much appreciate it.
I am available to answer any questions you may have by email 20ewh@queensu.ca or by phone 647-921-6757.
Sincerely,
Evan Huys
