To whomever this may concern,
I hope you're doing well. I'm reaching out because I've hit a bit of a rough patch, and it's been affecting my studies. I didn't perform as well as I'd hoped in SPAN111 in the second semester of this year, and I wanted to explain why.
I've been dealing with some personal stuff that's taken a toll on my mental health. I've been feeling quite overwhelmed and stressed since midway through this semester, and it's made it challenging to keep up with my coursework in my Spanish class. I've had trouble attending class and completing assignments.
I reached out to friends and family for support, but I realize now that I should have sought help from the university sooner. I didn't get any official documentation because I wasn't sure how to go about it then.
I know grades are important, and I'm sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. I'm committed to doing better and would appreciate it if this course could be dropped.
