Petition Letter
Hello Dr. Jenn Stephenson,
I hope this finds finds you well. I am writing to inform you of a health issue that unfortunately prevents me from attending my rescheduled CHEM282 exam tomorrow at 9 AM in Kingston. Currently, I am medically advised against both sitting the exam and traveling from my hometown due to the significancy of the physical illness.
I have obtained an off-campus physician note supporting my circumstance. The inability to complete my final exam causes me distress as I am in fourth year and was hoping to be on track to graduate for my June ceremony. Although some details of my condition are included in my supporting documents, I would like to emphasize that this acute infection has significantly impaired my cognitive abilities over the past 30 hours.
I am not sure how to proceed given my options, whether the appropriate course of action is to file an extenuating academic circumstance or to submit a petition for an IN and request for an exam deferral beyond the exam deferral period. If possible, I intend to complete my final exam as soon as possible when my health returns to baseline and at my professor’s earliest convenience.
I am committed to completing my undergraduate studies at Queen’s University in a manner that truly reflects my academic potential.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
Best regards,
Charlize Delos Reyes Cash 20239040
