Academic Plan
As stated in my appeal letter, I have, and will continuously be taking the required steps to create and demonstrate a successful academic plan throughout the following school year if I am to be reinstated. I have taken time to speak to a psychiatrist and participate in a psychiatric evaluation to understand my conditions, and be properly medicated to eliminate any possibility of a decline in my mental health, and spiraling into negative thoughts and patterns again. I have also decided to seek out different psychologists to try dialectical behavior therapy. My psychiatrist has informed me that this form of therapy has shown to be successful with others who suffer with the same mental challenges as I do. I have also decided to retake the courses I performed poorly in, and also take courses during the spring and summer semester to make up for the credits I have lost. I have signed up for an online course in academic success that will benefit me greatly in terms of responsibility, time management, healthy coping mechanisms, and more so I can be properly prepared for the following academic year. After conversing with an academic advisor I have also been informed of many on-campus resources that I am able to access, such as QSAS and on-campus tutoring. My parents have also offered to fund a private tutor whom I will be working with to maintain an organized and healthy school year, I have also been able to purchase a large calendar and agenda from the campus bookstore to remain organized and prepared for any upcoming important dates or events involving my academics. I truly appreciate the opportunity to be able to explain my situation, and provide more insight as to why I was not able to perform to the best of my abilities. Thank you for your consideration.
