Academic Plan
My plan for achieving academic success at Queen's, should I be granted permission to resume my studies in the fall, is as follows: I will continue working with my therapist on a regular basis remotely via zoom throughout the school year at Queen's to improve my mental well-being and to continue to develop healthy coping strategies. This will reflect positively on my grades because, without bearing the weight of this burden on my own, I will have a lot more time and energy to dedicate to school. Also, because I am going through group therapy with my dad in an effort to reconcile our relationship, our strained relationship will take less of a toll on me mentally, meaning I have more effort to pursue my academic path. I established good study habits in high school, which were incapacitated by the emotional turmoil that I was experiencing as a result of the extenuating circumstances with my family dynamics. Now that I am actively working to resolve these issues and have a support team in place (my therapist, Jennifer Williams), I know that, given the opportunity, I will achieve academic success.
