Academic Plan
To ensure that I can manage my coursework effectively and dedicate sufficient time to each subject, I propose to enroll as a part-time student for the upcoming academic year. By reducing my course load, I will be able to focus more intently on each class, allowing me to thoroughly grasp the material and perform to the best of my abilities. This approach will also provide me with the necessary time to continue my mental health treatment and manage my physical health more effectively.
I am committed to taking summer courses starting in July of this year and continuing in May of next year. By enrolling in summer sessions, I can make up for the credits I have lost and improve my GPA while maintaining a manageable workload. This strategy will enable me to stay on track with my academic progress without overwhelming myself.
I will continue my regular sessions with my therapist, who has been instrumental in my recent progress. This ongoing support will help me maintain my mental health and address any issues promptly. My therapist has expressed willingness to support me further and is available to attend any meetings if necessary to provide additional insights into my mental health condition and progress.
Additionally, I am actively working with my healthcare providers to manage my asthma and other health concerns more effectively. I have developed a health management plan that includes regular check-ups, adherence to prescribed treatments, and lifestyle changes to prevent future health setbacks. By prioritizing my physical health, I can reduce the frequency and severity of illnesses that have previously disrupted my studies.
I plan to utilize the academic support services available at the university, including tutoring, academic advising, and study groups. These resources will provide me with additional guidance and support to improve my understanding of course material and enhance my academic performance. I am also considering enrolling in workshops or seminars focused on study skills and time management to further bolster my academic capabilities.
To ensure I stay on track with my academic plan and receive the necessary support to succeed, I propose to establish a system of regular communication and monitoring with my academic advisor. This ongoing dialogue will help me track my progress and address any challenges promptly.
Furthermore, I kindly request that the university consider the possibility or further discussion of being able to remove the failed grades from my transcript that were directly a result of my health struggles. I understand that this is a significant request, but I believe it would provide a more accurate reflection of my potential and capabilities, free from the extraordinary circumstances I have faced. I also plan on redoing these courses once my GPA is increased so I can continue with my program plan. I am aware of the difficulty level and time consumption my program takes and I definitely have seen first hand it takes a lot of work and stability. Overall, I do very much feel ready to continue my studies with passion, focus, and determination to succeed, and I am confident that by implementing these measures I will be able to do so.
