Petition Letter
Dear Chair,
My name is Haoliang Liu, and my student number is 20187605. I am petitioning the faculty’s decision that I have to take more than 6.0 units of courses on a letter of permission from another university. I am a senior student and will graduate after finishing my last five elective courses. But I have some difficulty now. Here is the thing: my study permit and my visa will expire on September 30. I recently applied for my study permit, which will probably take about 58 days. After I get approval for a study permit, I could apply for an extension of my visa, which will probably take about 108 days. Hence, it will take me about 166 days for my application because I could not apply them together. I am so worried that I cannot stay in Canada in the fall and winter terms.
Hence, I plan to choose five online courses to finish my university career. However, when I try to enroll in courses on SOLUS, there are not too many online courses for me to take. The online courses are too popular to enroll in, and I could not even put my name on the waiting list. I even tried to enroll in the online courses during the winter term, but I still could not enroll in any online courses during the winter. I am so worried about whether I could graduate this year. So, I wonder whether I could take two or three online courses on a letter of permission through another university, and at the same time, I could only have to enroll in two or three online courses on SOLUS. I have taken all the courses in my degree plan after this summer term. I only have five electives left. So, I would not take all online courses about my major. It would benefit my circumstances if I could take two or three online courses on a letter of permission through another university in the fall or winter term. I hope my petition can be approved. I am so worried about it. I would appreciate it if it could be approved.
Thank you for your understanding and consideration.
Sincerely,
Haoliang Liu
