Academic Plan
I would like to take a full course load, which is 5 courses (15.00 units) while studying abroad in the winter semester of 2025. I am entering my 3rd year in the Concurrent Education program with a major in Health Studies. I am a dedicated and hardworking student with strong grades.
I spoke with Vanessa McCourt, the Academic Advisor and Program Coordinator of the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies, to ensure my academic plan is suitable. This fall semester, I am enrolled in two core courses, HLTH 315 and HLTH 323, along with HLTH 332, which fulfills 3.00 of the 6.00 units required from 300-level option courses. I’m also taking HLTH 334, which satisfies a requirement for either HLTH 333 or HLTH 334. Vanessa confirmed that I am missing one core course, HLTH 305, and a 3.00 unit 300-level option course, both of which I am able to take in 4th year. In 4th year, I also plan to take HLTH 416, and 6.00 units of 400-level options courses. Vanessa assured me that if I study abroad in the winter semester of 2025, I will still be able to satisfy all my degree requirements. During my study abroad, I plan to take electives, which Vanessa confirmed would not pose any issues.
In addition, I emailed Holly Platz, my concurrent education academic advisor. Holly confirmed that if I study abroad in 3rd year, I will be automatically enrolled in my education courses, PROF 310 and PRAC 31X, in 4th year.
I am confident that studying abroad will only enhance and contribute to my academic growth.
Sincerely,
Kaya Mincer
