Petition Letter
Due to my diagnosis of Depression on November 25, 2024, with symptoms that persisted since October 15, 2024, my studies in the Fall semester here at Queen's University were severely impacted by dread outside my control. Since the diagnosis, I used my doctor's note to officially obtain Academic considerations for extenuating Circumstances to delay assignments and exams until December 31, 2024, thinking I will be better able to handle my studies after dealing with my mental health. During this time, I talked extensively with my therapist and my friends and family to help me decide where to go in my life going forward. As a result, I now plan to withdraw from academic studies until I become a more competent person and someone more fit to be a student here at Queens. I wish I could have made this decision sooner and not wasted my parents' money and the precious time of the professors that instructed me throughout the fall semester. Still, I wish to drop all of my courses in the Fall semester so my future student GPA will not be affected when I am ready to return as a student of Queen's.
