Petition Letter
I've submitted the relevant petition so that I can drop the courses MATH 225 and CISC 223 which I do not require to keep as prerequisites for the next term and will negatively impact my ability to transfer into a Computing Honors plan from the plan I am currently in, which is a Computing General Plan which will throw my academic plans into jeopardy as I am currently in my third year. I had always intended to see through the course and so I did not drop the course at the time as I had been keeping up with my lectures and assignments for each course however about a month in during October I was impacted by immense stress stemming from the pressure of trying to meet the academic standards required to do well in all five of my courses so I could proceed to the next term and into May where I could then transfer back into the Computing Honors program which I have been working towards since I was forced to transfer into Bachelor's of Science following my struggles with mental health issues in my first year, though I was able to transfer into the General Plan in my second year. The stress made it very difficult to meet my academic goals throughout the term and I was unable to catch up prior and during exam season where I could have recuperated my grades due to extremely poor sleep as I was only able to sleep for 4-6 hours each day owing to my existing conditions (ADHD for which I receive medication) and the anxiety I was experiencing which made it a struggle to catch up with the workload. This also made it difficult to try and set up meetings with my therapist Dr. Norman Faaza who I had been seeing during the summer while I was at my home and I had intended to see during the school year but it was enormously difficult attempting to make time and try to meet my academic requirements. I plan to set up a much better schedule ahead of time where I can seek help and assistence during my next term and try and enroll for the accessibility services offered. I would appreciate any consideration and will submit documentation if I am able to support my petition. Thank you, Sidhardh.
