Academic Plan
I want to adjust my academic plan by adding three psychology courses to help shift my direction to a BA in Psychology so that I can pursue graduate school for psychotherapy. For a long time, I struggled with major depression, which negatively affected my academic performance. However, now that I’ve received the right care and worked my way out of it, I am fully committed to my goals. I want to take what I went through working my way out of depression to help others do the same one day.
To ensure my academic success, I have developed a clear plan moving forward. I am consistently attending counselling sessions to maintain my mental health and build sustainable habits for managing stress and challenges. Additionally, I have been actively reviewing the content for all three courses and preparing independently to ensure I can successfully catch up and meet their demands.
Last semester, I successfully passed all four of my courses, and I believe this demonstrates my ability to handle the demands of four courses this semester.
I am particularly eager to focus on psychology courses that align with my interests and long-term goals. My passion for the subject and my personal experiences drive me to excel, and I plan to achieve high merit in all three of these courses. I understand the importance of building a strong foundation for graduate studies, and I am fully committed to putting in the effort required to succeed.
Thank you for considering my request and for giving me the opportunity to continue working toward my academic and career goals. For the first time in a really long time, I feel like I have a sense of direction with where I want to go with my career and have been taking small steps every day to get there. I really want to add these courses so I can start working my way to applying to grad school for psychotherapy. I hope that you can understand, as I don't want to delay anymore.
