Petition Letter
I am requesting to be added to STAT 486 because I recently learned that it is a required prerequisite for the graduate programs I am applying to, not taking this course will prevent me from attending the grad school I hope to attend. Unfortunately, I was not made aware of this requirement until after the course add deadline had passed, despite my careful planning for graduate school. Missing this course would significantly impact my ability to meet the admission criteria for these programs, delaying my academic and professional goals by a year. I am fully prepared to complete any missed coursework and am committed to putting in the necessary effort to succeed in this course. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to enroll so that I can stay on track with my graduate school plans. I have support from both the instructor of the course, and the undergraduate chair of Mathematics and Statistics in this request.
