Academic Plan
Currently, I am enrolled in [FILM 260,3 units]. In addition to my on-campus studies, I am planning to take two off-campus courses—[FILM 2121 Western Film History I and ENGL 1211 English Composition I ] at Huber University of Technology. These off-campus courses are worth 6 units each and will contribute to my overall credit requirements for [Film and Media].
I have thoroughly reviewed my academic progress and have mapped out my course schedule for this semester to ensure I can meet the demands of these additional courses. These off-campus courses align well with my academic goals, as they provide opportunities to deepen my knowledge by focusing on the in-depth exploration of film history, I want to understand the historical origin of films in some countries and the history of technological development. In addition, I also want to improve my writing skills in academic papers or academic expression by learning English more systematically, while also allowing me to complete the necessary requirements for my degree.
I have ensured that the off-campus courses are eligible for transfer credit, and I will complete them in accordance with the university’s transfer credit policy. These courses are offered by [name of institution or online platform] and will be completed in the following manner:
1.I will finish online classes, self-paced learning, weekly assignments, exams, and meetings.
2.I will meet the requirements for each course, which includes necessary filming as well as necessary research on film history and English writing required practice
I am confident that I can manage these courses alongside my current academic workload at Queen’s University, as I have developed time management strategies that have worked well for me in the past.
Balancing on-campus and off-campus courses is a challenge I am prepared to take on. To ensure I can effectively manage both, I will:
1.Create a structured weekly schedule that will allow me to allocate dedicated time for both on-campus and off-campus course requirements.
2.Prioritize key deadlines and assessments, and ensure I plan well ahead to avoid last-minute work. I will set aside time each day to focus specifically on the off-campus courses and their assignments, in addition to my on-campus commitments.
3.Leverage on-campus resources, such as [mention any tutoring services, academic advisors, study groups, etc.] to help maintain a high standard in all of my courses.
4.Monitor my progress regularly, adjusting my schedule as necessary to ensure a balance between academic, extracurricular, and personal responsibilities.
I have previously handled multiple courses simultaneously and am confident in my ability to meet all academic expectations for both on-campus and off-campus courses.
Thank you for considering my application for this course overload. I am excited about the opportunity to enhance my education with these additional courses and am fully committed to ensuring I meet the standards expected by Queen’s University.
If any additional information is required, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Chengyi Ma
