Petition Letter
I am writing to request the addition of a fifth course to my letter of permission to meet the requirements of a full course load while I am studying abroad for a semester. I am applying to attend Bond University in Gold Coast, Australia outside of the Queen's exchange program. This opportunity represents a valuable experience for both my academic and personal development, and I am committed to ensuring that I remain on track with my Sociology degree while abroad. Currently, the letter of permission limits the amount of courses I can take. To maintain my academic plan, I am requesting to take a fifth course during my exchange. Without this addition, I risk falling behind in my academic plan, which may affect my ability to graduate on time. To address this issue, I have looked at the course offerings at Bond University and carefully selected classes that align with my Sociology degree requirements. I am confident that the fifth course I intend to take will fit within my overall degree structure and contribute meaningfully to my studies. Studying abroad has always been an important goal of mine. The chance to experience a different academic and cultural environment will enrich my education and allow me to engage in a new perspective on how other schools teach Sociology. At the same time, I want to be responsible in managing my academic plan for the exchange term. I remain committed to upholding the academic standards of Queen's while making the most of my exchange opportunity.
