Petition Letter
Hello
My name is Mikaela Naumann and I am writing this appeal to request that CHEM 281 (General Organic Chemistry I) taken Fall 2024 be dropped after the academic deadline.
I missed the deferred exam due to my documented medical disability and the Professor was kind to offer an additional opportunity to complete this final component of the course. However, as I began my review, with no access to the course materials in OnQ, I realized that this option after so much time had passed, would not allow me to produce my best result so I have registered to retake this course this spring.
I have been registered with QSAS since I began my degree and have appreciated being accommodated as required through the past years so I was not limited by my disability. Now I am excited to be completing my BHSc this spring and if this is granted, I understand that the grade in the Fall Chem 281 will be replaced with a DR notation that won’t affect my GPA and consequently my options for applying to complete my Masters this coming year.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Mikaela Naumann
