Petition Letter
I am writing to provide additional details regarding the special circumstances that impacted my academic studies and hope school's understanding for my grades.
Earlier in this year, I was diagnosed with Type1 diabetes, and had received treatments in both Kingston General Hospital and hospital in my country. After my efforts, I have been able to control my blood sugar well through insulin injections and medication, and participate in activities like a healthy person. However, I found myself pregnant in October, which was the time that midterms happened. I was prepared my midterm so hard, but at the same time, after I was pregnant, my blood sugar became crazy like roller coaster. I felt dizzy and less energy because of high blood sugar. The consequence was that I did really bad on my midterm.
As a university student, I was not ready to welcome a new life and be a qualified mother. I finally decided to give up my first baby. I was breaking down. After taken the surgery and taking the birth control pills, I discovered that the side effect of the pill was that my blood sugar levels were out of control. After eaten very little, I would need to inject twice as much pills as usual to get my blood sugar down to average. I was desperate both mentally and physically. I forgot to apply for academic consideration and messed up last semester. I dropped all my classes in 25Winter and adjust myself.
