Petition Letter
Dear Dr. Jenn Stephenson, Associate Dean (Academic),
I am petitioning to late drop course RELS131 (Summer ’24). I tried to take this course last summer (May-Jul/24) hoping I would be more successful with one course, however, I was not due to continued mental health and neurodivergent challenges. I should have taken the summer off from school and started fresh in September/24, after continuing with my medication changes, seeing a counsellor weekly and working with a learning coach over the summer. I am still working with the counsellor weekly. My medications have continued to be adjusted since May/24, however, I feel they are starting to settle now which is positive. I feel I am doing much better this year in school. I have also taken four courses per semester which has helped. I continue to work with QSAS as well. I have attached the Off-Campus Physician Letter for your review. I am hoping you will consider approving this request, to assist me in being able to achieve the GPA I need to declare my major for next year.
