Petition Letter
I am writing to respectfully request the opportunity to study abroad in Spain. I believe this experience will significantly enhance both my academic studies and my personal growth. Having grown up in the United States and now pursuing my education in Canada, I have been fortunate to gain diverse perspectives from two different cultures. By learning in two different areas I have gained so many diverse ways of teaching education, which for myself has helped improve my education as a student.
During my time abroad, I want to expand my studies by taking courses which focus on Spanish history, art, and culture. These courses go into the history of Spain and the area around me, which would only be acceptable and worth taking while immersed in the culture. These courses are a part of my electives in my major and will not cause me to be behind in my academic progress. I have even reached out to two advisors, one being in ArtSci and the other being undergraduate head of Biology, and they both have told me that I am on track.
To add, this experience will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to have the ability to live in Spain with other citizens of the area. I plan to live with other students who have gone to the school, which will help me with the area and truly learn what it is like to go to university there.
Overall, learning in this environment will deepen my appreciation for cultural diversity and strengthen my knowledge of the world. This experience will provide me with a well-rounded understanding that I can carry into my future career and personal life.
Thank you very much for considering my petition. I am truly excited about the possibility of studying in Spain and am confident that it will be an invaluable part of my academic journey.
