Petition Letter
Over the past several weeks, I’ve found the workload from my courses increasingly difficult to manage, and I would like to drop CISC 220. Though I tried better time management among other strategies, it has reached a point where I feel constantly overwhelmed. This particular course has become a major source of stress. Despite my efforts to keep up, I’ve realized that I’m struggling to retain the material and perform at the level I expect of myself, since the other courses are mandatory for my plan while CISC 220 is not.
If I continue with the current courseload, it is probable that it will take a toll on my grades, and my mental health as a whole. Reducing my schedule by one course would give me the breathing room to focus more effectively on the rest of my studies. I want to ensure that the courses I remain in receive the attention and effort they need.
I regret taking this course at this time, though I didn’t recognize how demanding it would be until recently. When the term began, it seemed otherwise. Unfortunately, the combination of assignments, exams, and commitments from other classes has made it clear that continuing isn’t sustainable for me.
