Academic Plan
To: The Associate Dean of Studies;
I have engaged myself in weekly sessions with a local therapist. The goal of these sessions is to help me create habits to manage my depression and anxiety. Along with managing my mental health my therapist is counselling me on ways to help organize my life and set short term achievable goals that help me work towards larger life goals. Along with therapy I am also now on a steady schedule of medication to help balance my anxiety and depression, giving me greater control of my emotional state and allowing me to focus. Along with clinical help, I've also built up a small community of friends within Kingston. Smart, professional and supportive, many of these people are graduates of Queens Computer Science and Engineering departments. They have helped me create a positive and balanced environment to live in. The biggest change has been the realization of a goal. As I out lined in my appeal, I have discovered a passion for computer programming, and I plan to learn more from Queen's University. With a solid long term goal to focus on and plan my academics around, I'll have all the more reason to stay focused and determined on my academic studies.
