Petition Letter
To whomever it may concern,
My name is Izzy Sylvester and I am a student currently enrolled in a BAH degree in Environmental Studies. I am registered with ASUS for disabilities, however, I have been struggling immensely to manage my disabilities and course commitments. In the fall term, I did not have a doctor and was unable to receive my proper medication used to treat my disabilities consistently. This made it even more difficult for me to manage my studies and health. I was forced to prioritize my health while finding a new doctor, but completing my course work quickly became overwhelming and felt impossible most days. These extenuating circumstances, out of my control, had a major impact on my performance in my courses. I reached out to my accommodations advisor and my professors for help, however I was unable to complete DEVS 221. My professor, Dr. Ian Fanning suggested that I apply for a late drop of the course and agreed to support me in this. I have worked hard to find a new doctor and put new supports in place to manage this next semester so I am able to succeed and stay healthy. I sincerely appreciate your understanding of these extenuating and unfortunate life circumstances and I am able to provide any further details if need be.
