Petition to Add a Class After the Deadline
I am writing to respectfully request approval to add HLTH 101 after the official add deadline.
At the beginning of the term, I was waitlisted for HLTH 101. However, as a student-athlete, I am required to be enrolled in a minimum of three classes to maintain my soccer eligibility. Because the waitlisted course did not become available before the add deadline, I made the difficult decision to remove myself from the waitlist and enroll in another course to ensure I met the minimum enrollment requirement and did not lose my athletic eligibility.
Unfortunately, the replacement course did not fit my schedule as expected and caused significant conflicts and interference with my academic and athletic commitments. Shortly after the add deadline passed, I noticed that HLTH 101 became available, but by that time I was no longer able to add the course through the registration system.
The circumstances surrounding my enrollment decisions were driven by eligibility requirements beyond my control and the uncertainty of waitlist availability prior to the deadline. Had HLTH 101 become available earlier, I would have remained enrolled in that course, as it fits my schedule significantly better.
I am fully prepared to catch up on any missed material and assignments, and I am seeking and will attach support from the course instructor along with any required documentation.
