Petition Letter
During the course enrollment period, I was experiencing an extremely difficult and destabilizing time due to serious family circumstances related to events in my home country, Iran. As a result, I needed to remain in Vancouver to support my family and was largely offline during this period. Unfortunately, this prevented me from being able to select my courses or meet the enrollment deadlines. This was an isolated and extraordinary circumstance, and I have since taken steps to stabilize both my personal situation and academic planning.
EMPR 270 is a required course within my program and is essential for maintaining my academic progression. Not completing this course at this stage would cause me to fall significantly behind in my degree requirements and disrupt my graduation timeline. Successfully completing EMPR 270 this semester is therefore a critical part of my academic plan.
I have already contacted the professor for EMPR 270 to express my interest in enrolling, and I am fully committed to catching up on any missed material. As this professor was also my instructor last semester, I am familiar with their teaching style and course expectations, and I am confident that I would have no difficulty reintegrating into the course at this stage.
At present, I am enrolled in only three courses this semester. In order to remain on track academically, it is very important for me to carry a full course load of five courses. I have the time, capacity, and structure in my schedule to successfully manage this workload and remain fully engaged in EMPR 270 through consistent attendance, participation, and timely completion of all assessments.
My plan for academic success is to maintain a manageable and balanced course load, prioritize required courses such as EMPR 270, and proactively seek academic support when necessary. I am confident that under these conditions, I will be able to perform strongly and continue progressing toward my degree without further disruption.
Given the circumstances and my current readiness, I respectfully request consideration to enroll in EMPR 270 this semester so that I may remain on track academically.
Thank you very much for your time and thoughtful consideration.
Sincerely,
Maya Nate
