Academic Plan
If my petition to add FILM 218 is granted, I will follow the academic and wellness plan below to support sustained academic success while I continue addressing my mental health.
I will maintain a reduced, realistic course load for Winter 2026 (e.g., 1–2 courses rather than a full load) to prevent overload and allow time for recovery and consistent work habits. Also, I will prioritize FILM 218 as part of a manageable schedule because it aligns with my academic goals and is a course I can engage with consistently. If I am approved to add FILM 218 late, I will confirm expectations with the instructor immediately and create a catch-up schedule for any missed readings/lectures/assignments within 7–10 days. As for my mental health, I will continue regular mental health care through Student Wellness Services, and a therapist, including scheduled follow-ups and adherence to the treatment plan recommended by my provider. If symptoms intensify, I will seek support early rather than withdrawing or dropping courses suddenly again. I will also meet with a academic advisor in early-to-mid February, to confirm my Winter 2026 course choices and build a realistic plan for credits going forward.
This plan will work as it reduces academic pressure, adds structure and accountability, and ensures I have ongoing professional support. Most importantly, it creates clear early-intervention steps so that if my mental health worsens, I can respond quickly and protect my academic progress rather than falling behind silently.
