Petition Letter
I am writing to request consideration regarding my missed final examination in ECON 256 and the resulting impact on my course enrollment.
During the final examination period for ECON 256, I became ill and was unable to attend the scheduled exam. Due to this illness, I was approved to write the final examination during the deferred exam period instead. While I am grateful for this accommodation, the delay in completing the course had further academic consequences beyond my control.
ECON 256 is a prerequisite for ECON 310. Because my final grade for ECON 256 could not be released until I completed the deferred examination, I was unable to meet the prerequisite requirement in time to enroll in ECON 310 during the add/drop period. As a result, I was prevented from registering for ECON 310 for the current term, despite my intention to do so and my academic plan requiring this course.
The illness that caused me to miss my original ECON 256 final exam therefore directly led to my delayed course completion and, in turn, my inability to add ECON 310 by the add/drop deadline. This sequence of events was outside of my control and significantly disrupted my academic progression.
I respectfully request that my circumstances be taken into consideration and that an exception be made to allow me to enroll in ECON 310 or otherwise remedy the academic impact of this situation.
Thank you very much for your time and understanding.
Sincerely,
Jade Jennings
