Academic Plan
My academic plan once getting into this course is to meet with the Professor Samosh during office hours and discuss all the work i have missed, and do any extra credit work needed to make up for my late start. I will do everything in my power to overachieve in this class. I will prioritize early completion of assignments to avoid falling behind and will seek clarification when concepts require further reinforcement. I am confident that my current course load is manageable and I am committed to maintaining study routines, minimizing external distractions, and utilizing available academic resources such as academic advising and peer support when necessary. In addition, the course’s focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion is directly relevant to my future training in medicine. Healthcare delivery is deeply shaped by systemic barriers, social determinants of health, and institutional biases that affect patient outcomes. Developing a stronger understanding of how identity, power structures, and inequities operate within organizations will allow me to approach future patient care with greater cultural humility and awareness. As a prospective medical student, I recognize that clinical competence extends beyond scientific knowledge; it also requires the ability to engage respectfully with diverse patient populations and to advocate for equitable systems of care. The frameworks taught in this course will strengthen my ability to critically analyze healthcare environments and contribute meaningfully to inclusive clinical practice. Thank you for your time, hope to hear from you soon.
