Petition Letter
I am writing to respectfully request permission to take more than 6.0 units of courses at another university through a Letter of Permission (LOP).
I am currently in my final year of my program and am in good academic standing. To meet my graduation requirements, I have to complete one additional 3.0-unit course to meet the option D: econ at any level requirements. (I still have one LOP course this semester that has not been finished yet , that’s why the academic progress shows 6.0 units)
During the summer term, however, Queen’s offers no such course to satisfy this remaining course for graduation.
As a result, completing this course at a visiting institution through an LOP is necessary for me to meet my degree requirements. Because I’ve already had two 3.0-units LOP courses taken, I have to submit this petition to take an extra 3.0-unit LOP course. Without approval of this request, I have to delay my graduation by one additional academic term.
