Petition Letter
Good afternoon,
I am writing this petition to request to take more than 6.0 credits in my undergraduate carreer. I have enrolled to participate in a summer Spanish intensive program at Middlebury College in Vermont. Middlebury's summer language programs are some of the finest globally and represent the equivalent of one year of rigorous academic study. At Middlebury, a strong focus is placed on immersion. This teaching style is facilitated by their insistance on a zero-tolerance policy with regards to speaking any language besides the target language- in my case, Spanish. This kind of Spanish immersion is not possible at Queen's as we simply do not run this kind of program. I have already taken 6.0 transfer credits at my time at Queen's and this program is weighted at 9.0 credits. That being said, I only need 3.0 of these credits in order to graduate at the end of the 2026 Fall Semester. If it is of any relevance, I would only need 3.0 credits to be transfered.
