Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean,
I would like to request that the PSYC 100 course be removed from my academic record. Throughout this semester, I have experienced recurring migraine attacks accompanied by persistent insomnia. These symptoms were severe, unpredictable, and beyond my control. The night before the PSYC 100 exam, severe pain combined with insomnia, coupled with the 9:00 a.m. start time, left me completely disoriented. Why was this course
PSYC 100 particularly affected? Because it requires extensive reading and memorization, both of which were directly impacted by my migraines and sleep difficulties. Compared to other courses, this one was simply too difficult for me. I plan to seek medical treatment this summer. I had originally intended to drop the course during the midterm exam period, but at the time I thought things would improve—they didn’t. I cannot predict when the pain will strike. I will seek treatment this summer. Next semester, I will definitely work hard to pass this course. I hope you will give me this opportunity.
