Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean,
My name is Gracyn McPhail (20490578), and I am an arts and science student who is writing to you to petition a request to defer my Sociology 101 Final Exam scheduled for April 16th, 2026 from 9am - 11am.
I am very sorry to have to do this but my student housing situation has gotten very bad which is causing me to move out this month. I have been studying, packing, and dealing with a very toxic household. These circumstances have directly affected my academic ability as I am not even able to stay in the house currently. I am scheduled to write two exams on April 16th and another one on April 20th. I will not be able to properly write both of my exams on April 16th due to my housing situation.
I understand the importance of completing my exams and would like the opportunity to properly show my understanding of the course when I am not being affected by these circumstances.
Thank you for your time and consideration. Please let me know if I can provide any additional information.
Sincerely,
Gracyn McPhail
